Francine Shapiro, Founder of EMDR Therapy
At MCC, we are equipped to support adults working through childhood physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence in the home, divorce & displacement. The ACEs study has demonstrated the long term health impact these experiences can have. Thankfully there is hope! We can help and you can mitigate these impacts.
We now know from research on the experiences between a caregiver and child in-utero and in infancy, that by age 1 we have already developed strategies to get our needs met relationally. Traumas and stressors at this time have an impact on how we relate even into adulthood. We can help people work through attachment wounds even from pre-verbal times.
"Complex Trauma at its core is a relational violation. Working with it, activates our relationship histories and personal wounds as well as challenges our struggles with closeness and intimacy." - Frank Anderson, MD & IFS expert. MCC utilizes a specialist approach using research proven strategies to support facing these challenges.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing is a heavily researched intervention used alongside talk therapy to support people in processing distressing memories. Ask our therapists about it today.
